Ventures in Dubai
If you’re building a serious company in the UAE, especially out of Dubai, there’s a program you should have on your radar today: Future 100. It’s a national list and acceleration initiative led by the UAE’s Ministry of Economy together with the Office of Government Development and the Future. The goal is simple: spotlight and speed up the startups and scaleups shaping the country’s future economy.
Why this matters to our community
For African founders scaling into the Gulf, Future 100 isn’t just another award. It’s a signal to banks, regulators, enterprise buyers, and investors that your venture is credible and strategically aligned with the UAE’s priorities. Companies selected receive public recognition, faster access to decision-makers, and structured support across funding, legal, commercial, and capacity-building tracks.
What the program actually offers
-
Recognition: the Future 100 label and a high-profile ceremony.
-
Fast access: doors opened to investors, regulators, and the broader business community.
-
Support: practical help with funding, legal, commercial, and capability needs.
Who they’re looking for
Startups and scaleups with a UAE presence (HQ or significant operations) that sit squarely in the country’s “future industries” and technology themes, think advanced manufacturing, agritech, biotech, creative industries, cybersecurity, edtech, fintech, foodtech, health tech, proptech, mobility, renewables, space, sustainability, and more.
Eligibility sits within the UAE’s SME definition: < 250 employees and turnover < AED 250m. Companies can re-apply even if they’ve applied or won before.
